A Pathway, April 19, 2025, Bavan Gallery & Zafi Gallery, Dubai

Bavan Gallery in collaboration with Zafi Gallery present “A Pathway”. The exhibition explores transitions, movement and development through works by Morteza Ahmadvand, Nasser Bakhshi, Elham Etemadi, Golnaz Fathi, Leila Ghandchi, Mohammad Hossein Gholamzadeh, Omid Hallaj, Ahoo Hamedi, Shohreh Mehran, Arsalan Mohammadi, Roghayeh Najdi, Elham Pourkhani, Niloofar Rahnama, Neda Saeedi, Sanam Sayehafkan, Mojtaba Tabatabaei, Mahsa Tehrani, and Nima Zaare Nahandi.
The exhibition invites a contemplation into the fundamental human experience of movement and transition. More than simply a direction, a pathway represents a course, a progression, and the myriad connections that shape our understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
The works presented, spanning diverse mediums and perspectives, explore the
multifaceted nature of pathways. Some artists delve into the literal routes we traverse – physical landscapes, urban arteries, or the intricate lines that map our travels. Others explore more abstract pathways: the evolution of ideas, the unfolding of personal narratives, the delicate threads of relationships, or the spiritual quests that guide our lives.
“A Pathway” acknowledges that journeys are rarely linear. They are often marked by detours, intersections, moments of pause, and unexpected vistas. The artists in this exhibition capture these nuances, inviting us to reflect on the significance of each step, each turning point, and the destination, whether tangible or imagined. What propels us forward? What guides our steps? What landscapes do we traverse? And ultimately, what meaning do we find in the act of moving along each pathway?
